BORIS: Prototype of BGP Routing System Based on Blockchain Technology

EasyChair Preprint no. 5413

5 pagesDate: April 28, 2021

Abstract

The BGP protocol, which is used for global routing, is not secure, because it does not have authentication mechanisms and authentication of the update source. In this regard, many solutions have been developed to ensure the security of BGP, but each of them depends on a central trusted node. The purpose of this work is to develop and implement a prototype of the dynamic routing protocol BGP based on blockchain technology, which allows you to build a secure decentralized system. The paper provides an experimental research of the prototype that shows that despite the increase in operating time, the prototype increases the security of the BGP protocol
