Energy Efficient Water Resource Management and Optimisation: A Multi-Agent Approach

EasyChair Preprint no. 4570

Abstract

Water supply remains one of challenging problems dealt day-by-day being conscience about the environmental concerns and the hardness in clean water supply. This research focuses on such a scenario that how the water supply of a middle size water reach city can be optimised with respect to a number of key performance indicators including energy efficiency, given a variety of water resources including constructed and naturel reservoirs. A mathematical model has been developed for controlling and optimising water supply of a particular city similar to the one introduced in the scenario, which is supplied from a number of different types of resources/reservoirs; natural lakes and constructed reservoirs (dams). A multi agent approach has been introduce to manage the system for planing and control purposes.

Keyphrases: energy efficiency, mathematical modelling, multi-agent systems, water resources optimisation
