Cognitive Shelves combine AI technology with electronic labels to create a dynamic and data-driven shopping environment. This research delves into the key elements of Cognitive Shelves, including the integration of AI algorithms, electronic shelf labels (ESLs), and Internet of Things (IoT) devices. We discuss the various applications of this technology, such as real-time pricing updates, inventory management, and personalized customer experiences. As Cognitive Shelves become increasingly prevalent in the retail sector, it is essential to consider the ethical and privacy implications of this technology. This paper also discusses the concerns related to data security, consumer privacy, and the need for transparent data handling practices in the retail industry.
