Optimisation of Cancer Treatment Using Nanotechnology

EasyChair Preprint no. 1701

6 pagesDate: October 18, 2019

Abstract

Cancer nanotechnology is novel multi-disciplinary domain of extensive research which include chemistry, biology with the use of medicine and engineering.

Nanotechnology aims to develop and fabricate structure at nanoscale level in regard to biomolecules or biological vesicles present in the human body. On interacting at sub molecular level, nanotechnology proves to be an effective tool in diagnosing and treating the cancer. It also opens several doors for effective cancer treatment, which is hard to achieve by conventional methods.

Nano medicine helps to increase the chemotherapeutic delivery by improving solubility and prolonged retention time. Due to nanoparticles size and versatility, selective targeting of cancer cells can be achieved. This helps to reduce the destruction of normal cells.

Nanotechnology also aids to know the structure and features of cancer cells namely faulty tumor vessels, unique cell surface antigen property and their unrestrained growth.

Nanotechnology provides effective treatment against the present treatment such as radiation therapy, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, thermotherapy, photodynamic therapy, and anti-angiogenesis. It also delivers multifunctional approach which helps us to check the effectiveness of the drug.

Current progress in cancer research has extended our knowledge of cancer as a disease at the genetic, molecular and cellular stages. It also provides an opportunity in research and development domain.

Keyphrases: cancer cells, drug loaded nanoparticles, Nanotechnology, Optimisation, treatment
