Performance Analysis of OSTBC MIMO OFDM With a Code Rate ½ and ¾

EasyChair Preprint no. 3963

Abstract

MIMO (Multiple Input-Multiple Output) systems with multiple antennas  at each ends of a transmission link toguether with techniques such as OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) are a viable and efficient solution for future wireless  communication systems. However, MIMO systems experience the effects of inter-symbol interference (ISI), they can be offset by STBC (Space-Time Block Codes) schemes,  which are a very reliable technique for achieving bandwidth efficiency and ISI suppression capacity. In this article the main purpose is to provide the results of the simulations of the Alamouti Code and  OSTBC (Orthogonal Space Time Block Codes) working toguether with MIMO-OFDM systems, with different types of  modulation (BPSK, QPSK, 8PSK, 16QAM and 64QAM) and evaluating their bit error rates (BER) with respect  to the signal to noise ratio (SNR).
