Maturity Diagnosis of the Knowledge Management Process Applied to a Higher Education Institution.

EasyChair Preprint no. 5764

Abstract

Knowledge management (KM) should be considered as the articulating axis of the three basic components of the role of a higher education institution (HEI), given that it is the mechanism that allows the knowledge resulting from the research process to be appropriated and incorporated into the social technological solutions that the country demands through training and extension. The National Learning Service (SENA) is a national HEI with standardised processes, defined structures, organised systems and consolidated repositories, but without a defined strategy to achieve the appropriate appropriation and incorporation of knowledge. The SENA in recent years has consolidated a system of research, technological development and innovation called SENNOVA, which has been successful in generating knowledge products, but without a methodology to manage them properly. For this reason, this paper presents a diagnostic methodology based on maturity scales to recognise the current state of the institution with regard to its KM processes.
