The Quality and Social Competitiveness of the University in Latin America

Abstract

Higher Education has not escaped the influence of the globalized process and the social competitiveness of universities. In Latin America and the Caribbean, in recent decades, there are particularities in its development, where the main priorities and challenges are focused on revealing quality as a vital and substantial process. On this scenario, the main characteristics and perspectives that define the actions of Higher Education Institutions, make a difference in the international context. In the case of Latin America, it is a challenge to maintain the educational level achieved in the midst of the current socioeconomic reality. For these reasons, in the present work the objective is: to assess the relevance of quality in Higher Education in Latin America.
