The second ISCB UK conference will take place in Glasgow, Scotland, UK, from April 20th - April 22nd, 2027. The UK has a large diverse bioinformatics and computational community; this meeting will bring this community together to share cutting-edge science, foster collaborations, and build networks.
The programme will feature keynote lectures from internationally recognised leaders, sessions showcasing the latest advances in computational methods and their applications in the life sciences, a vibrant student-led symposium, and plenty of opportunities for networking and community building.
Whether you are an established researcher, an early-career scientist, or a student taking your first steps into the field, ISCB UK 2026 is your opportunity to be part of shaping the future of computational biology in the UK and beyond. We look forward to welcoming you in 2027 for this exciting next chapter in our journey!
Submission Guidelines
ISCB-UK 2027 welcomes abstract submissions featuring research at the forefront of bioinformatics and computational biology. We encourage the submission of original work for consideration for oral and/or poster presentation.
All presentations are categorized based on scientific topics, ensuring a cohesive organization of talks and posters. Please ensure that your abstract communicates a scientific result and refrains from serving as an advertisement for any commercial software package or products.
Abstracts for Oral Presentation or Poster
The presenter should be identified during the submission process. Presenters of accepted abstracts are required to make the presentation themselves, and must register and pay to attend the conference.
Submitters may choose to have their submission reviewed for: (i) talk only, (ii) talk and poster or (iii) poster only. If you select talk and poster, and are unsuccessful for a talk, your abstract will automatically be considered for a poster presentation. Submissions must be received by February 16, 2027.
This conference will feature a student-organized symposium on the morning and afternoon of April 20. Those wishing to be consider for presentation in this part of the conference should submit their work to the Student Symposium Track. Students and Post-Docs are strongly encouraged to consider opting into this option as well as the option to be considered for the main conference.
Participants who opt for (i) talk only or (ii) talk and poster are required to submit: Both a 275-word abstract to be posted on the conference website AND a long abstract of up to two (2) pages in PDF format, to provide additional details including figures and graphics that support the main points of the abstract. Do not submit more than two pages.
Participants who opt for (iii) poster only are required to submit: up to 275-word abstract to be posted on the conference website.
The 275-word abstract should be a brief and concise summary of the background/motivation for the study, method and result (s), as well as a conclusion/statement of significance. The abstract is submitted through the EasyChair submission system. Accepted abstracts (maximum 275 words) will be posted on the conference website. Your abstract must not contain your title/position or any personal information (e.g. affiliation). These details will be collected through the EasyChair submission system.
All presentations are categorized based on scientific topics, ensuring a cohesive organization of talks and posters. Please ensure that your abstract communicates a scientific result and refrains from serving as an advertisement for any commercial software package or products.
All abstracts must be submitted using the conference submission site by the abstract deadline: February 16, 2027.
In-Person Poster Hall: When preparing accepted posters please note that your printed poster should not exceed the following dimensions: 46 inches wide by 46 inches high. There will be 1 or 2 poster per side on the each poster board. Additionally, we ask that you also follow the Virtual Poster Hall information below in addition to your in-person presentation. This ensures all posters are viewable to both in-person and virtual attendees thus providing more exposure to your work.
Virtual Poster Hall: When preparing accepted posters please note that your poster will need to be uploaded via the virtual platform portal in two formats - a PDF of the poster and a 5-7 minute flash talk video not to exceed 100MB. Poster portal information will be sent to all approved posters closer to the conference and after the notification deadline. All presentations MUST be uploaded and the CoP MUST be signed by March 31, 2027. More specific upload dates will be given closer to the conference.
*Late Breaking posters will have a very short turn-around.
