Submission Guidelines
Associated Schools of Construction Annual Conference
Third Doctoral Forum - April 15, 2026
Please follow these guidelines to prepare a 2-page extended abstract. Use Times New Roman font, size 12, and maintain single spacing. Use 1 1-inch margins on each side.
Extended Abstract Title: Limit to 25 Words or fewer.
1. Introduction: Provide a brief introduction to the research problem. Explain its significance and relevance in a broader academic or practical context.
2. Research Questions/Objectives: Clearly state the research questions/objectives that your study addresses.
3. Methodology: Describe the methodology used to conduct your research, including data collection methods.
4. Key Findings (if available): Summarize the key findings of your research. Highlight the most significant results, insights, or contributions to the field.
5. Theoretical/Practical Implications: Discuss the theoretical or practical implications of your research. Explain how your findings contribute to existing knowledge or have relevance in real-world applications.
6. Contribution to the Field: Highlight the unique contributions of your research to the field and emphasize its originality.
7. Conclusion: Provide a concise conclusion that summarizes the main points of your extended abstract.
8. References: If applicable, include a short list of key references or works that have influenced your research.
Instructions:
- Author Information: Please refrain from including the author's name and affiliation within the extended abstract.
- Focus on PhD Research: Submissions for the doctoral forum should be exclusively based on the student's PhD research. Other research projects are not eligible for submission.
- Co-Authorship Limitation: Faculty advisors, committee members, and other doctoral students cannot be listed as co-authors in the extended abstract.
- Formatting Requirements: The extended abstract should not exceed 2 pages. Use Times New Roman font, size 12, and maintain single spacing. Ensure that page margins remain unchanged.
- Incorporating Graphics: You are allowed to include figures, graphs, and illustrations to present your research effectively. However, your abstract must not exceed the two-page limit. All graphics should be easily readable, and no font smaller than 9 points should be used in figures.
- Submission Format: Please submit the extended abstract as a PDF file.
