Bay to the Future: Navigating for Hospitality’s new Era
March 19th - March 21st, 2026
Tampa, FL
Greetings from the Southeast, Central and South American, and Caribbean (SECSA-CHRIE) Federation Board and our host institution, University of South Florida! Please join us for our 11th Annual SECSA-CHRIE Conference from Thursday, March 19th to Saturday, March 21st, 2026.
We hope you will consider attending this event and presenting. Federation members are strongly encouraged, and all members of ICHRIE are invited.
We are excited to announce a two-pronged academic focus for this conference and program: Research and Pedagogy. Attendees will be asked to submit works emphasizing hospitality and tourism research or pedagogical practices. Accordingly, this highlights a broad range of contemporary topics relevant to research, education, and industry practices in hospitality, tourism, and related fields of study.
Research Track:
There are two options for submission under the research track.
Option1 (Track Chair: Dr. Soyoung Park, soyoungpark@fau.edu): Completed Research Paper – a maximum of 1,000-word structured abstract for a formal paper presentation (15 minutes + 5 minutes for Q&A)
Option 2 (Track Chair: Dr. Wei Wei, Wei.Wei@ucf.edu): Work-in-Progress Paper – a maximum of 500-word abstract for a shorter presentation (10 minutes + 5 minutes for Q&A).
Research Track Requirements
- To be considered for the completed research paper, researchers must submit a structured abstract (1,000 words max., in English, including tables/figures, but excluding references) by the deadline (November 9th, 2025, 11:59 pm EST).
- To be considered for the work-in-progress paper, researchers must submit a structured abstract (500 words max., in English, including tables/figures, but excluding references) by the deadline (November 9th, 2025, 11:59 pm EST).
- Use single-spaced Times New Roman 12-point font, one-inch margins, in APA format.
- The presentation schedule will be finalized after author registration is completed.
- All papers are to be submitted online via EasyChair (https://easychair.org/conferences?conf=2026secsachrie)
- Please submit a Microsoft Word document name the file with your last name and first initial (i.e., BrownT.doc).
- Once submitted, papers will undergo a double-blind review process.
Pedagogy Track Requirements
- The Pedagogy Track will feature multiple workshops to provide practical lessons and teaching modules that faculty can use in their respective classrooms or programs. These workshop presenters will share best practices, innovative teaching lessons, and/or examples from their classrooms.
- All workshops should include handouts or “takeaways” attendees may apply to their teaching. The goal is for attendees to leave each session with new ideas that they can apply immediately in their classroom and at their university or school.
- To present in this track, submit a 1-page proposal, using single-spaced Times New Roman 12-point font, one-inch margins, in APA format by the deadline (November 9th, 2025, 11:59 pm EST) to Dr. Cindy Choi at echoi2@olemiss.edu.
